Did You know?
David Livingstone, the nineteenth-century explorer, missionary, and antislavery activist, is buried in London’s Westminster Abbey.
But where is his heart?
Livingstone died in Nov. 1873.
Before shipping his body back to England, his friends attached a note his corpse saying:
“Saying you can have his body, but his heart belongs to Africa”.
The Livingstone memorial in Ilala marks the spot where his heart is buried.
