Sanwo-Olu's visit: APC leadera caution against getting complacent with opposition in 2019

Some elder statesmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have cautioned, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos state, not to let his guard down by underrating the strength of opposition parties in the 2019 governorship election.

The APC elders in question are from Lagos west senatorial district.

They however, expressed confidence that the APC will win the state’s governorship election, Vanguard reports.

The group made the statement on Saturday, October 13, when Sanwo-Olu paid them a thank you visit in Ikeja, for supporting his candidacy at the just concluded primaries.

The party urged its members to ensure victory for Sanwo-Olu in the 2019 Lagos state governorship election.

“We have never lost Lagos State and we will not lose Lagos State. I was the state chairman of the party for 12 years and we never lost the state to opposition party.

I want to implore all of us to work together to ensure Sanwo-Olu’s victory in the governorship election.

We cannot afford to lose Lagos to Jimi Agbaje or any unworthy candidate,” the immediate past Lagos APC chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale said.

Meanwhile, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured the APC chieftains that he would run a government based on the wishes of the people if elected.

The party’s governorship candidate said his policies and programmes would be based on the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

He added that he would always keep a listening ear in serving the state. Sanwo-Olu, who spoke in Yoruba, said he was seeking the number one seat in the state out of the passion to serve the people and take the state to greater heights.
